DBT equips adolescents with practical skills in five core areas namely: Mindfulness, Distress tolerance, Emotion regulation, Interpersonal effectiveness and Walking the Middle Path.

By integrating these skills into their daily lives, adolescents gain a sense of control, improve their self-esteem, and develop healthier ways to navigate life's challenges. DBT also fosters long-term mental well-being, making it an essential resource for adolescents, particularly those struggling with mental health issues or high-risk behaviours.

DBT skills group for adolescents

This group is for adolescents age 15-18

Group sessions are held every Tuesday at 3:30pm SAST via Zoom

Bookings are open for 21 July 2026.

The cost for the full 18 week course is R13500.

If you can’t commit to the full course, you can register for each course individually, see FAQ below for more details.

Our next module is Interpersonal effectiveness, cost R3000.

For this module I invite parents to join as it is helpful for families to learn these skills together.

What is Interpersonal effectiveness?

In this module, you will learn how to express your needs clearly and confidently, navigate difficult conversations, set healthy boundaries, handle conflict more effectively, and balance your own needs with the needs of others.

Through evidence-based DBT skills such as DEAR MAN, GIVE, and FAST, you will develop the confidence to communicate more effectively while maintaining both your relationships and your self-worth.

Whether you and/or your teen struggle with people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, or relationship difficulties, these skills can help you create more meaningful and balanced connections with others.
